Aertex shorts vintage 1930s school uniform sports kit Blue boy girl child UNUSED
Vintage Aertex children's shorts, with the Aertex slogan on the label: "The World's Healthiest Wear". Unused, but with storage marks. Good quality shorts, made in the UK by the Cellular Clothing Company, probably in the late 1930s to early 1950s.
They would have been worn for school, as part of the sports kit, and also for ordinary outdoor/summer wear. They are unsold shop stock from the mid-20th century, and still have their original price sticker attached - they cost 14/- (fourteen shillings), in old money, but were reduced to 9/6 as a "sale price".
Fully lined in white cotton.
Partly elasticated waist, with opening at one side, with button and press stud fastener.
One side pocket.
Please treat as hand wash only.
Size (from garment measurements)
Waist 19" unstretched to 20" fully stretched
Outside leg, waist to hem, 11 1/2".
Vintage Aertex clothing, made in the mid-20th century.
Never used, and with original shop tags still attached, but SHOP SOILED.
There is no major damage to the fabric, but the shorts are badly discoloured/faded (storage marks). This may improve a little if they are washed, but is unlikely to come out completely.
The shorts are therefore more suitable for nostalgic/historical interest, or perhaps for theatrical or film costumes - particularly for a muddy scene!
