Antique Aertex white dress waistcoat in superb condition. Probably made in the 1890s or possibly just afterwards, judging by the wording on the Aertex label.
The front panels are white, presumably cotton repp, backed and fully lined in Aertex Cellular material (presumably cotton). Two pockets. Adjuster band at the back with toothed buckle. 3 buttons at the front (these may not be the original buttons).
Size (not marked in garment, taken from measurements):
Chest (maximum) 36"
Waist (maximum) 34"
Length, shoulder to points at the front 21.5".
Condition: Over a century old, but recently cleaned and still in superb condition. The front panels and the back are in excellent condition, with no stains and just a few tiny snags.
The buckle has unfortunately rusted, leaving rust marks on the adjuster band at the back, as shown, and there is a small rust mark deep inside one of the pockets.
