Antique German game bird plate Grouse Franz Anton Mehlem Royal Bonn ptarmigan


Antique German scalloped plate, by Royal Bonn (Franz Anton Mehlem). With a picture of a game bird - I think it is a grouse, possibly a ptarmigan. The outer part of the plate (the part surrounding the central picture) is multicoloured, giving a rainbow lustre effect as it catches the light.
The backstamp is the castle emblem of Royal Bonn, the monogram FAM, and: Franz Ant Mehlem Bonn Germany. There is also an impressed mark, which I cannot decipher.
8.5 inches (22 cm) approx. It weighs 360g approx.


Condition
Antique plate in good condition, but not perfect. There are no chips or cracks, but the top surface isn't quite smooth - there are some pinprick white spots. I am not sure if these are manufacturing faults or cutlery marks (or a mixture of the two). lthough it isn't quite perfect, the plate is really nice, and it would still make a nice decorative item for display - or as a replacement to complete a set.
