Antique sardine box S Fielding lidded serving dish with underplate Fish finial
Antique Staffordshire sardine box by S Fielding & Co, with brown fish finial, and underplate. Backstamped with crown and "S.F. & Co. England". Made around 1890-1915.
Measures 7.5 x 6.5 x 4.5 inches approx (maximum measurement).

Condition
Antique sardine box in good condition, but it has been used and definitely doesn't look "new and shiny"! Tiny nibble in the underside of the underplate, near one corner, as shown in the close-up photograph. No other chips, cracks or repairs. The gilding round the edges of the lid and underplate is lightly rubbed, as you can see, and there are some scratches/rubbing of the colours, especially the dark green and the leaves.
