Church holy communion set Antique vintage silver plate in wooden box Protestant

Antique communion set, from a Victorian Independent Meeting (a Protestant non-conformist church). This was clearly much used over the years, and consists of various items from different makers, mainly silver plated; it is not a "matching set". It consists of a heavy wooden box, containing various items as pictured. Details are as follows:

  • Tall flagon (wine jug with lid) - the spout is loose and needs to be soldered back into place.
  • 4 large tankard-shaped chalices, engraved " Independent Meeting, Gloucester".
  • 4 serving plates for communion bread.
  • small goblet and wine pourer, possibly for chaplain visits to invalids, and last rites.
  • porcelain jug, presumably for filling the wine cups
The box has a removable tray at the back, and when everything is packed into the box, there are 4 empty compartments. Three of them are large enough to hold a standard wine bottle. I do not know what was originally in the smaller one.

Overall size is 20" x 16" x 14". Weight 16 kg approx.

Condition
Antique communion set, in good condition for display or historical interest, but no longer perfect. The box itself has some old cracks in the lid and base, and the base has clearly been repaired in the past; the screws in the base are not completely flush with the wood, so the box would need to be placed on a stone floor or a padded surface; to avoid scratching the altar table. I do not know if the lock is in working order, as the key is missing. One of the handles is missing, and there is a "scar" in the lid which probably originally held a metal plate with the name of the chapel (or the donor). The silver plate itself is in good condition for its age, with marks and some tarnishing from normal use over the course of many years. The spout of the wine flagon is loose, and needs to be soldered back.
