Havet and Schrumpf's First German Book
Practical German Lessons For Beginners
by Alfred G Haver
and Gustav A Schrumpf
Havet's Uniform Conversational Method for the Study of Foreign Languages
Victorian school textbook.
Third Edition, published by Simpkin, Marshall & Co in 1883.
The first part of the book has modern script, and the more advanced lessons use Gothic script for the German - this was quite normal in Victorian times.
Victorian children's school book, over a century old, and in good condition, but not pristine.
The pages are generally clean and tidy, but there are a few small marks, and a couple of pages are creased.
Covers are scuffed, but in good condition for their age.
Previous owners' names pencilled on front flyleaf.
A few vocabulary notes pencilled on back flyleaf.
