IMPERFECT cream school ankle socks LEAPFROG girls or boys vintage 1950s UNUSED

IMPERFECT cream school ankle socks LEAPFROG girls or boys vintage 1950s UNUSED

One pair of vintage 1950s ankle length school-type socks.
They are unused, but they have tiny marks from storage.
The colour is cream.
The ankle "turn-downs" are decorated in bands of two colours.
Rayon/cotton mixture.
There is a picture of boys and girls playing leap-frog; presumably the brand name was "Leapfrog".
Made in England in the 1950s.
They were unsold shop stock from the 1950s, and have been in storage at the shop ever since.
They are still marked with the original "Sale Price" labels - the price was 1/3 (one shilling and thruppence).
There is a choice of sizes.
These socks are marked with SOCK sizes - this is based on foot length (in inches), and is NOT the same as shoe sizes.
Here is a guide to help you choose the right size.
  • Sock size 8"......................UK shoe size 1 - 2 (adult)
  • Sock size 7 1/2"...............UK shoe size 12 - 13 (children's size)
  • Sock size 7"......................UK shoe size 10 - 11 (children's size)
  • Sock size 6 1/2"...............UK shoe size 8 - 9 (children's size)
Please remember that these are very old socks, and they are not as stretchy as modern ones.
These socks are IMPERFECT.
They are unused, and still have the original shop price tags attached from the 1950s.
These have been stapled to the tops of the socks with metal staples.
The staples have rusted, and will need to be carefully removed.
They may leave small rust spots behind.
The socks are obviously very old, and have been in storage for over half a century.
They have tiny spots on from storage.
They will need to be hand-washed before use.
Please see the photographs.
