Vintage evening bow tie for formal "black tie" occasions.
Made of black silk, with a pique texture.
Made in England during the early 1950s, but never used, and still in superb condition.
This is a formal single-ender bow tie of the type generally used in Edwardian England, which has now become almost extinct as the modern two-winged tie became popular.
This style now survives principally in the form of regimental formal dress, but is quite rare.
It is no more difficult to tie than a double-winged tie, and it looks smarter, because it lies flatter against your shirt.
If you can't quite remember how to tie a bow tie, please let me know when you purchase, and I will include instructions with the bow tie.
The size of the finished bow is 3.75" (9.5 cm) long by 2.5" (6.5 cm) tall.
Cleaning: specialist dry cleaning recommended.
Available in three lengths, suitable for collar sizes up to about 17 inches.
(The lengths are the total length of the tie.)
If in doubt, please buy the larger size or send me an eBay message for advice on which size to choose.
Vintage English bow tie, about 60 years old, but never used and still in superb condition.
