Clean but rather tatty condition.
This tie has just been washed.
It is clean, and fresh.
However, it has clearly been somebody's favourite over the last half-century or so, and it is definitely showing its age.
The back of the tie has bobbled, and the hem of the blade has frayed round the edges.
The tie could certainly be worn as it is, for casual use, but if you want it to look really smart, you would need to turn up the hem at the front of the tie, and tidy up the back.
