A vintage card from the Prudential Assurance Company.
It is a motorist's card, intended to be kept in the car until needed.
It is entitled "Motor Insurance: Instructions in Case of an accident".
It is marked 5/57 (presumably short for May 1957).
It includes helpful advice on writing down the names and addresses of anyone involved, not admitting liability, and reporting incidents to the company and the police.
The back of the card gives the contact details of branches of the Pru.
Oddly, there are no suggestions on first aid.
8.5" x 4" (22 x 10 cm)
Old card, which has clearly been knocking around inside a card and then a house for some considerable time.
It is still in one piece, but noticeably discoloured and stained, as you can see.
The card is creased across the middle - perhaps the previous owner kept it in their wallet or handbag, or perhaps it didn't fit in the glove compartment!
There is a pencilled note on the card that looks like a car registration number.
