Vintage 1960s girls jeans UNUSED childrens hippie trousers Age 8 years orange
Vintage 1960s girls' orange jeans.
The shopkeeper in the 1960s has called them "cotton drill slacks", but I think we would call them "jeans" nowadays.
Suitable for girls
Ladybird brand, from the days when Ladybird was a high-quality brand, sold in independent drapers' shops rather than chain stores.
Elasticated waist, with decorative belt at the front.
This belt is just for ornament- it doesn't actually tighten or loosen.
Made in England, probably in the 1960s.
They were unsold shop stock, and have been in storage at the shop ever since.
These garments still have their original hand-written shop tags attached, complete with pre-decimal prices.
The price was 24/- (twenty-four shillings).
The decimal prices have been added on to the tags, presumably in 1971.
Choice of size
- Age 8 years.............height 50"...............outside leg (waist to hem) 30".............waist 20" to 23"
New, with tags.
These jeans are about half a century old, and if you wish to wear them, they will need to be washed first - separately, in case the colour runs.
They have been properly stored in the shop, and are in beautiful condition.
