Vintage cravat scarf tie Made in Macclesfield blue silk Unhemmed fringe
Splendid Macclesfield silk cravat/scarf/tie, probably made in the 1930s or thereabouts. Red, white and blue check design. Short unhemmed fringe. There are no labels on this tie (it was made long before the regulations on labelling garments!), but the words "MADE IN MACCLESFIELD" are woven into the edge, as shown. Width... 3".... 7.5 cm Length... 46"... 117 cm
Condition:The best part of a century old, and in excellent condition for its age. No holes or stains, but a few loose threads on the reverse of the cravat. These will obviously not show when you are wearing it.
