Vintage pigskin tie case Swaine Brigg quality vintage English leather luggage
Vintage pigskin tie travelling case by Swaine-Briggs, with Lightning zip. Made in England, probably in the first part of the 20th century. It measures 14" x 5.5" (35 x 14 cm) approx when closed. The folding metal hanger opens out easily so you can unzip the case and hang it up in your hotel wardrobe.
Embossed SWAINE-BRIGG LONDON MADE IN ENGLAND and REAL PIGSKIN. The leather retaining straps fasten with Newey stud fasteners, marked with a 1922 patent number. One strap has sections to hold tie pins and collar studs.

Condition
Top quality English pigskin tie case, around a century old, and with some minor battle-scars, but still in good usable condition. The leather has a few scuffs and stains, as you can see. The bottom corner is rubbed, and a few stitches have worn away, but this does not affect the use of the case at all. The sturdy Lightning zip and the Newey fasteners are still in full working order. The cloth lining is in good condition for its age, with a few scrapes and marks, but no real damage except for at the top of the spine, where the folded hanger has worn through the lining, as shown. The ties, pin and stud are for display only, and are NOT included in the sale.
