Vintage tubular knit dress fabric STRIPED pirate red and white ONE METRE

Vintage 1980s dress making fabric, sold by the metre. Tubular knit - the tubular width is 36" tubular, 72" opened out (90 cm tubular, 180 cm opened out). The fabric composition is not marked, but it appears to be a good quality acrylic (or possibly acrylic/wool mixture), probably Courtelle.

This sort of material was very popular in the second half of the 20th century, for making garments requiring a slight stretch without sagging.

Suitable for:
  • Cardigans
  • Sailor suits
  • Jerseys
  • Dresses
  • Baby clothes (leggings, jackets etc)
  • Skirts
  • Tops
  • Slacks and trousers
  • Costumes for stage, theatre, school plays etc

Red, with thin white stripe.

This is good quality, heavy, fabric.
The weight is approximately 520g per metre.
Up to 3 metres can be sent by ordinary post or airmail.
If you buy 4 metres or more, it will need to be sent by courier, or cut into 3-metre lengths and sent separately.

If you buy more than 4 metres, please let me know whether you need it as one continuous length.

Condition

Unused vintage fabric in very good condition.
The fabric has been in storage since the 1980s, and the edges of the roll are a little dusty.
It should be washed before use.
