Vintage tunic shirt size 15.75 Coles Knightsbridge starched bib front formal
Traditional men's tunic shirt, starched, made by Coles of Knightsbridge. This is a classic bespoke bib front formal shirt, probably made in the early-to-mid-20th century.
White. Plain front bib, starched. Stud front. Single starched cuffs for cufflinks. You will need a separate collar (size 16.25), shirt studs and collar studs to wear with this shirt (available separately).
Size: Collar size (not marked in shirt, taken from measurements): 15.75 inches
Actual garment measurements:
Chest measurement: 46 inches (maximum)
Shoulder to shoulder: 19 inches
Length, neck to hem at the back: 43 inches (this is several inches longer than most modern shirts)
Length of sleeve, shoulder to end of cuff: 28.5 inches (as you can see, the sleeves have been designed with alittle extra material, so they can easily be let out if you need a longersleeve).
Length of sleeve, armpit to cuff: 26 inches
Length of front bib panels (measured straight down the front from the collar): 14.5 inches.
Condition: Vintage shirt, well over half a century old and still in good condition for its age. The front panels and cuffs have been starched. There are a few minor faults: a couple of tiny rust marks (probably from the shirt being stored in its pins); these are mainly on the neckband, so they will be covered by your collar. There is a mark on the front 7 inches below the bib, as shown, and a couple of tiny holes at the back, 15 inches above the hem. Please see photographs.
